hi ; i;m newbie with laptops i was wondering that maybe somone can help me make partitions on my new laptop dv6100 cto , i tried' partiton magic 8' but it says that cnt do partition i have these recovery cd i would like to do this in windows;thx for all help

hi thx for help but still have a problem 'partition magic 8'
when i going to create new partition inthat software i;m getting small window that says ;
the selected disc contains one or more partition that cannot be moved.
to coomplet this task use the operations menu rather than a wizard

That means that you're going to have to not use the wizard.

BTW: You really, really, really don't want to use partitioning programs from within windows....

Do it from a cold boot.../boot disc

Google something called ...Hiren's BootCD 8.4 (or later).. if you find a program you like /works for you buy a hard copy of that program.
