Memory slot for second mem' module - Travelmate 2200/2700?

Does anyone knows where I can find the SECOND (FIRST??) memory slot - to change & upgrade memory- on a ACER Travelmate 2200/2700 ???
In the manual(s) this (the place) is not documentated...
Although the same manual speaks about the possibility to upgrade the first & the second memory module!

Thanks in advance,

My guess would be there's a place on the motherboard that may require opening up the chasis / taking out the keyboard

Could it be under the keyboard. That is where HP hid it on my last laptop. Their tech support in India
didn't have a clue. As to how you get to it if it is under the keyboard, I dunno. I know how to remove the keyboard on my Aspire 5672WLMi but don't know about your Travelmate.

My aspire is different from your Travelmate so I would't feel comfortable with that. I don't want to be responsible for breaking your machine. Google for a service manual or see this link http://www.notebooksolutions.ca/zc/i...ervice_manuals They list a manual for $6.00 USD. Also see this link http://www.notebookforums.com/thread153949.html It confirms that the second ram is under keyboard.

Your welcome. How involved was it to access the other RAM slot?
Too bad you had to pay for the service manual. It sounds like a good investment though.
How complete was the service manual? I think I might purchase one for my 5672.

It was very, very easy...
The service manual was indeed very clearly, step by step -with photos of the specific steps!

You only have to know where to begin...:

On a Travelmate 2200/2700 you have first to remove the middle cover (above the keyboard) - no screws, then remove the two screws that secures the keyboard, tilt up the keyboard panel and there you are: the second memory bay.....

Now my laptop jumps from 512 MB to 1530MB....

Thanks you all,
Greetings,
eirin,
