Seems that the W730 was planned a while ago, albeit with a M10P-CSP128 instead of a M11. Did anyone ever release a W730+M10 based laptop? Or is the Voodoo the first laptop based on the W730?
I think the timeline for the W730 was this year. The 720 seems to be a "baby 730", making it perfect for eMachines. I think Voodoo is the first with a 730.

The numbers, if I am correct refer to the motherboard design mainly, as the layout should be very similar and the case should be the same.

Oh..... I've already seen that before... but... We are talking about Eurocom here.

I wont get excited until PCT announces this thing. Then we'll know if its official.

Arima just renovated their website, and now have information about the W730, W720, A520, A530, and more. www.arima.com.tw

Just ordered an
M860: AMD64-3400+/512mbRAM/60GB7200rpmHDD
ETA is April 18th
Got 2 kingmax 512mb PC3200's waiting.
Price Sucks, but where else ya gonna get the A64-3400 and an ATI9700
Since price is the only major complaint with voodoo from what I have read, then canceling my overdue/questionable DELL XPS was the right choice.

I think you made the smart move. Higher tech in the m860... if only they didn't cost so much, I'd ebay off my m6805 for the better video card. The 3000+ CPU is plenty fast. I went with nearly the same CPU in one of my desktops. It has a 3200+, which is 2ghz and 1mb cache, so it splits the difference between the 3000+ and your 3400+. The CPU is not the limiting factor. Both desktop & laptop use 7200rpm drive w/8mb cache and both have 1gb of ram. The desktop is not faster then the laptop in any significant way except for game play. It can sustain higher framerates with it's 9700pro.

Please post some benchmarks (3dmark 2001se & 03, PCmark, AquaMark,etc).
I would love to see how close your laptop comes to my desktop.

wow dude you payed like at least $1100 more for for little more benchmark wise(m11 only being slightly better than m10 only in higher resolutions) if you were looking for the m11 9700 with amd 64, personally you should of went with the AMD 64 with the 9600 m10-p with another vendor and save that extra cash on so much more $1100 is nothing to sneeze at

Show me the ATI9600 (M10 pro or otherwise) that can hit 4k in 3dmark 2003 without extreme cooling (ie liquid nitrogen or refridgeration).
See the pctorque Sager ATI9700 overclocking thread.
From what I have seen the 9700 is no small improvement (30% faster).
A lot of the time saving money can hurt more than help. My Toshiba 5205-s705 was discontinued after a 3 month production run. Can't buy'em, they don't support'em, and their support tells you to buy a new machine if you want updated drivers and continued support. Heh the cheap route sucks.
Doesn't really prove anything considering the quantity sold by each contributing, but a quick google shows:
Searched the web for DELL laptop sucks. Results 1 - 10 of about 22,400
Searched the web for Toshiba laptop sucks. Results 1 - 10 of about 10,400
Searched the web for Voodoopc laptop sucks. Results 1 - 10 of about 62.
Looking specifically for bad VoodooPC stories is a lot harder than the millions of DELL/thousands of Toshiba cases. Trashing a company on price alone is not very convincing.
This is my first purchase with Voodoo, you will benefit from my experience either way.
Afterall why buy that BMW when a nice Toyota has four wheels/seats/doors/motor for half the price?

Suppose the BMW and Toyota are both made by China Motors and the BMW has a really expensive paint?

Ok don't flame me...I think Voodoo is great. I would buy it if I had that much money. But when one does not have so much money, one realizes something very special about the notebook industry: you can get the same machine through a different route for less. There will be less-prestigious OEMs than Voodoo who will make a notebook based on the Arima W730, and I will be watching out for those.

I guess I would enjoy the fact that my mechanic wouldn't tell me to replace $1200.00 worth of fuel system when its just a bad gas cap. And my loaner car isn't an echo (YUCK). Just so you know I own neither, only know of these experiences.

Looks like they support the system better, but damn if the price doesn't suck, cause it does!

Hypersonic should have their version of the M:860 ready in a few weeks. It'll be every bit as good as Voodoo's but at least $1000 less expensive.

please show me where hte 9700 is 30% faster, because from many reviews it only seen as a overclocked 9600 and even so if it is 30% which i highly doubt, is it worth paying an extra $1100 for?

The emachines 6809 specs are out, and they are not so exciting compared to 6807 or 6805

I think he mentions a few thread above that he call Hypersonic and ask. I could have mistaken though.
