Hey all,

I received my T43 and I have a couple of questions...

The graphics card is an ATI x300 advertised as a 64 Mb card. When I ran system info on it, this is what it gave me:

(Everest Benchmark)
Computer: Summary: Display: Video Adapter: ATI Radeon x300 (128Mb)
Computer: Summary: Display: Video Adapter: ATI Radeon x300 (128Mb) (it lists it twice)
Display: Windows Video: Video Adapter Properties: Memory Size: 128Mb
GPU Codename M22
GPU: Graphics Processor Properties: Memory Size: 64Mb

(Pc Wizard)
Total Memory: 128Mb
Texture Memory: 240Mb
(--no mention of 64Mb anywhere--)

(System Info 2005)
Adapter RAM: 128Mb
Memory: 128Mb

(Windows System Information)
Adapter RAM: 128Mb

(PC Mark 05)
Total Local Video Memory: 62Mb
Total Local Texture Memory: 62Mb
AGP Aperture Size: 184Mb

I'm aware that this isn't a really good video card by any means, but I was just curious as to how much video is actually available. I've seen other post that they have a 128Mb card... is this the same one? Does it have 64Mb of it's own and use the remaining 64Mb from the RAM? Or are the system info programs screwy?

IBM advertised it as having a "4x DVD Multi-Burner" or something to that effect. I looked up the model online (UJ-822s) and everywhere it says that it only burns at 2x or 2.4x. I have also found that it only burns at that speed. What was the 4x for?

If you know anything else I shoudl know about the T43, send it my way!

Thanks for the help,
Billy

PS. As simple as it is, I love the keyboard light!!! What a great idea for the bus and flights!
