Heres a timeline of whats happened...so far

Dec 10, Order inspiron 6400. estimated shiped by dec 22, deliver on dec 25(obviously after though)
Seconds later, i get Approved email, then a confirmed email.

Order processing(says it takes 24-48 hours to process creditcards)

Dec 11, Order processing(still)

Dec 12,Order processing(still)
Estimated delivery Dec 26

Dec 13, Order processing(still)
Estimated deliver Dec 27

Dec 14, 9am phoned dell. 40 mins later after being on hold most of the time. they sorted it out. They had it on hold for no reason, and appoligized, and said it would be in production in a few hours.

Dec 14, 11pm, Order processing(still)
Estimated delivery Dec 28

So, tommorow(since call center is closed), if it hasnt changed, i will be asking for compensation(10% possibly), or im canceling my order.

wow... seen a lot worse happen from Dell though. Order status tends to jump unexpectedly though. You may be in boxing before you know it. As far as compensation, Dell may(probably will) offer you a coupon, webcam, or some trinket for your trouble, but a system upgrade (internal) would reset your order so be careful on that!

If you do need laptop quick, I would go to the outlet and pick one up with better specs cheaper. Not to mention they ship pretty much immediately after c/c approval.

cheers,
whack

Damn, thier lucky. I was seconds from calling, and they just updated it. Its in production, and is back to the 28th estimate (was the 29th late last night) so i guess no coupon for me

So, overall, the expected delivery date, at this time, is 12/28 - three days later than the original estimate. Doesn't sound so bad to me, given the time of year and the crazy business the company must be doing for the XMas rush. I've heard many stories about much longer delays, and don't think you're experiencing anything either out of the ordinary, or that should cause you much grief. Good luck.

Its not the delivery date that i care about. If i never phoned them in the first place, it would still be on hold.
