TravelMate 4404 Wireless Radio Disabled

I recently upgraded to Vista on my 4404, decided I didnt like it and used the Acer restore disks to get back to XP. After I went back to XP I find tht I cannot access my wireless network. THe software shows the wireless radio is enabled, but when I try to connect it tells me that the radio is still diabled and will need to be "hardware enabled" through an external switch or button. The only one of these that I know about is the button on the front of my notebook, but this has no effect on enabling the radio. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!!

Nevermind! I had uninstalled the Acer LaunchManager and this is what controls the wireless radio. I reinstalled launch manager using the Acer Applications CD and everything is back as it should be.

I have a Travelmate 4402 and installed Windows 7. The installation went great but then I could not connect to the network. The device manager showed that all was good but I got a message sayig the the wireless card needed to be turned on. I tried the button in the front to turn on the card and it was not operational. As a result I had to re-install XP. Now theat Windows 7 is fully released I would like to put it on the 4402 but know that I will have this problem.
Any suggestions?????
