Hi.

I have a Clevo D400S. The laptop suddenly shuts down by itself without warning. Then when I tray to start it (after some hours) it don't start. The "ON" led is green but the computer don't start. Some times hitting the keyboard and shaking the laptop works.

I think its a overheating problem, but there is no dust in the fans (2 fans). I will tray to buy a thermal paste and apply it on the CPU.

Why can't I start the laptop and what can I do?

Voltage Regulator? Motherboard electrical short? Loose SATA or PATA cable? If shaking it round makes it come up thats your first clue that something is not connecting properly. If there is zero power period and it will not turn on then something in the power switch or power charging system could be to blame. I would have it looked at by a qualified professional soon before your short turns it into a obituary listing.

Now my laptop turns on. But it shutdowns after some minutes, in windows and in bios. The grren power led is still on but the screen is black and the cd/dvd losses power. After shuting the laptop down manualy I must hit the computer right above the mouse pad. Its not a overheating problem. Pleas help me.
