Installing Bluetooth Module in Acer Travelmate 4002WLMi

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I bought myself the ACER MODULE BLUETOOTH W/ANTENA (54.T48V7.001) to install it in my Acer Travelmate 4002 WLMi. As I opened the laptop, I could not find out where to plug the module in. Finally, I was happy to get it assembled again, but still no bluetooth

Well, does anybody have a manual which points out where to install the module or any photographs or whatever, helping me with that problem?

Hello!
Did you succeed in installing your bluetooth module?
I have got exactly the same problem.
I found disassambly instructions for the 4002WLMi
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/11677/Acer_1410.html
(The Aspire 1410 seem to be very similar to the 4002WLMi),
disassambled the keyboard,...
but what confuses me is, that the "Connector 6", the bluetooth-connector
is not free. There is already a cable plugged in.
And, this connector is much bigger than the connector from
the 54.T48V7.001...

Any ideas?

Helmut

Good news!!!

I did it!
Notebook: TM 4002WLMi
Bluetooth-Module: 54.T48V7.001

The bluetooth module is located in the corner of the case next to the battery (on the upper side, the keyboard-side, of the case). You have to detach the LCD-unit, then you can seperate the lower case part from the upper case part. The cable, that was delivered with the module had the wrong connector,
but the right cable is already in the notebook.

It worked instantly. I did'nt need to install drivers, obviously they were already installed.

Helmut.

Hi! I'm planning to install the Bluetooth Module to my TM4002 too.
Additionally, I want to buy a second hdd module, because I have two systems on different hdds and replacing the hdd in the module means a lot of work. I lost one of the four screws for the hdd module already and if I buy a new one, I need four more screws too. The bluetooth module needs two screws. Are the screws with the module or do I have to buy them separately?
Thanks for your help.

There were no screws included with the bluetooth module. I think, the screws for the bluetooth module are smaller than the screws for the hdd module. I did only use one screw for the bluetooth module, because I did'nt completely seperate the upper and the lower part of the case and couldn't reach the place for the second screw. To seperate the upper and lower part of the case completely, seems to be a lot of work. I suggest, not to use screws, but to use glue to secure the bluetooth module.

Helmut
