Hey there - someone recommended this site to me as a good place for objective (and informed opinions!)
I'm purchasing a new laptop - first one - and I don't want to get a lemon. I've done a bit of research, and am looking at the hp pavillion dv2120us. It's on sale for $799 ($200 rebate). Normally $999-$1124, depending on where you get it. I also looked at the HP Pavillion 6000t (and z), Dell Inspiron, and the Toshiba Sattelite, but none have everything I want.
The 2120 has just about all I want, and appears to be a great deal! Any one have any experience with it?
Uses: I need to be able to use word and excel on it, do research online, burn cds/dvds and have it be fairly good speed, listen to itunes, some digital photo use, and vistas ready.
Pros: Says it's got an AMD dual processor, 1 gig ddr sdram and 120 gig harddrive, free vistas upgrade, GeForce graphics card, built in WLAN (b&g), Windows XP Media Center, also they throw in webcam and snapfish (not a big deal, but extras)
Cons:the screen size and odd shiny finish. No video out?!!
Anyone have thoughts? Experiences? I also posted this under the "HP" discussion. Thanks in advance!
