Artifacting in 3D (DirectX, OpenGL) games...

This is a problem I've had for awhile and under both XP and now Vista. My video works fine until I load a 3D game - any one will do (OpenGL, DirectX). When I do that, fast-moving artifacts fill my screen until I exit - then everything is normal again. My 8790 is out of warranty I think, so what's wrong and what options do I have - new driver, new vidcard, etc?

1. Review other threads regarding Artifacting and the 8790 - The ones below yours.

2. Might consider cheaning out the unit.

3. Might consider setting the Video Card setting a bit lower using ATITOOL.
