Spilt a beer on my M1710!!!!

I spilt a whole pint of Blue Moon beer on my XPS! YARRG!
My heart skipped a beat but with my cat like reflexes I unplugged it and powered it down ASAP, then ran into the kitchen and grabbed a roll of paper towels and soaked it all up. It restarted fine with no problems shortly after the clean up. Thank God! I have the warrentee but it still would have been a hassle to get it fixed if anything went wrong.


My friend was playing BF2142 on my XPS as I was enjoying a tasty beverage as I watched him. I saw an enemy that he missed, I tipped over my drink trying to point the guy out... haha, I suck, major party foul! Im just glad it was me and not him cause I probably would have had a canipsion!

Now my notebook smells like beer haha jk, I cleaned it good with alcohol wipes.

usually thers a cover under the keyboard which is made of plastic that holds all of that stuff, but you should still open it up and clean every part individually, maybe even tell dell your keyboard "broke" and that you need a new one theyll send u a new one if u return the old one

shutup grid he needs help not your stupid remarks.

i personally would take apart the whole system. its not hard and just requires a philips screw driver theirs complete instructions on dells site. i would take everything apart starting with the top control panel (just pry off the right side with a flat head) and then take off the keyboard and let everything dry out maybe take a co2 can and blow it off if you want instructions on entire system removal let me know and i'll post the link.


if you cant fix it i might be interseted in buying it for the parts...

If it were my system I would also tak it apart and ensure there isnt any residue left since this isnt water were talking about beer.

I might have to do that, just to be safe. Everything seems ok now, but Im sure there is alot of beer residue like yall mentioned.

Beer + Gaming = load of fun!

I drink beer around my E1705 every night. Never a serious spill. I worry about it though. I do have complete care also.

hahahahaha, just last night (wed. night), my mom spilled her bottle of blue moon on the kitchen table. guess it's just not a good week for blue moon beer.
