Playing PC Game on TV

Thread Starter
I decided to hook up my lappy and new 42" plasma tv just to see if it could be done. I did get it working, S-video cable from PC to tv and audio cable from PC to tv. After I cloned the desk top via the Nvidia control panel everything on my lappy can be seen and heard through the tv. This is great to watch all my divx movies on my harddrive. The only thing I can't get to work are the games. After I launch the game the tv screen goes black (trying to find s-video signle). The sound for the game comes through the tv,but no visuals. Anyone have any ideas.

In any event Happy holidays.

Can't wait for the new year, new lappy with santa rosa, dx10, dual core (maybe quad), 20" screen (that's all I want in the new year--Oh and peace on earth

I do not have any particulars for you other than I know this is a setting in the forceware drivers there somewhere. I encountered the same issue a few times on these cards. Go figure I can't remember the solution though. But yes, it can be fixed.

The issue I had with this was a resolution, refresh rate issue. I don't remember any longer how to fix it but I know I had to change the resolution settings of my video card, then go in the video.con file of my game and set if for the factory refresh rate of my TV. I hope that helps some.

does your tv not have a vga or dvi connection?

also like aussie stated, you may have to set your resolution down since your plasma is more than likely to be @ a resolution of 1024 x 768 or 1366 x 768
