wrong again. 9400 and m1710 have (if you choose that) exactley same screen. you can buy same screen to 9400 like m1710. my True life Dell screen have better luminance & contrast ratio then my friends m1710 who have less luminance & contrast ratio (also True life). a OverClocked 9400 with go7900gs (1.24 volt) and a m1710 with go7900gtx use nearlly exact same current (W). the only diffrence is the LED lamps inside the chassis, and they dont use much current, (and of course some cosmetic stuff on the chassis). so once again, you need a PA-13 if you want to be safe. <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" height="21" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td class="intxt" width="194"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td class="intxt"> </td> </tr> </tbody></table></td> <td bgcolor="#e4dbd6" width="1"> </td> <td class="intxt"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="20"> </td> <td class="intxt"> </td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>

lol overclocking the video card to get better performance, then underclocking the cpu to compensate for the extra power used, sounds really contradicting and funny to me even if you only lowered your cpu by a little bit... I got a original brand new authentic dell 130w psu on ebay for only $38! dun eat lunch for a week and buy yourself a 130w psu for worry-free gaming and overclocking! if you sell your 90w psu after you get the 130w, then you probably end up only paying $10 for a brand new 130w psu !!!!!!!

UNDERVOLTING FOR GODSAKE! You guys really don't get it do you. I was trying to hand out a free tip of how to solve the powerbrick overheating problem but it's like talking to a brick wall.

I know the difference man, now if you could only explain the underVOLTING process to me, that'd be cool
post #1128 of 1404
I use NHC ( Notebook Hardware Control).
http://www.pbus-167.com/

You can set different voltages for different multipliers.
I have only changed the voltages for multiplier 12x since that is the one used under full load.

Started at 1.2500 and went down to 1,1500 for both cores in small steps. I could probably go even lower but i don't feel the need since my powerbrick dont heat up as much as before ,can't even smell it =)

If you undevolt to much it will stop responding and you have to reboot. No damage done.

Be sure to download the Dell bug fix version.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(first of all, burn the ISO on a CD-R disc, use Nero (Image function. dont forgett to check "CD")
http://home.tele2.es/jlgm/peng.html

Blind Flash;

1. start the computer with the ISO CD-R.

2. press F12 after 3-4 sek _______(tested my self, took me ~3-4 sek, from pure start.(reboot take longer of course))

3. press one time down (with the "down-arrow key") and press enter

4. (type the right flash); nvflash XXXXXXX.rom

5. press enter

6. press Y ___________(wait 20 sek, to be sure the flash has been updated)

7. restart the computer____________ (manual)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

edit. if you dont succeed, do it one more time (cant get any worse, he he), sometimes this 3-4 sek after you start your computer can be 4-5 sek or 2-3 sek. just do it until you succeed.

I'm pretty sure he said he tried that method.

just a very quick question: if i flash 1.24v bios to my 79gs, does it greatly draw power from my battery? Great boost in performance is good, but if it significiant decrease my battery life, so i'll pass. Since my play game time around 10-20% of my usage time with m1710. and i have to rely on my battery alot

That depends. Normal work will not change your battery life. The card uses only 1v i 2d mode Playing games while on battery will shorten it.

my 9400 run MUCH better now with my new PA-13 PSU. i can easily use 600/800 (1.24 V) for long times in games like Bioshock, who i couldnt with my 90 W PSU... thats for sure.

i can recomend all people to buy a 130 W PSU if you use 1.24 volt and 600/800, (like i said before. a m1710 with go7900gtx must have a 130 W PSU to run stable. the "only" different in current (W) between a OC 9400 and a m1710 is just some LED lights)...they both use the same current.

PLEASE HELP ME QUICKLY

I have to buy a FX 2500M for my M90 with broken FX1500M.

What are the differences between FX 2500M REV A00 and FX 2500M REV A01? both have the same DELL P/N CG129 but i want to know which is the best!
Can i have problems with unlocked flash bios as the 7900GS /FX 1500M REV A01?

CAN YOU HELP ME?
I'm pretty sure the A00 has higher quality RAM, which means you can overclock it higher. However, a lot of people have had their A00 cards dying on them lately, while I'm yet to see an A01 card die. Both A00 and A01 cores overclock the same from what I've seen and experienced.

many thanks!!! too late...i took a REV A00!

do you thin that with rev A01 could i have had problems with unlocked bios on JUANLU HOMEPAGE?

I had had a FX 1500M Rev A01 and I couldn't flash an unlocked bios with memory optimization cause of Hinix memory chip!

do you think is the same for FX 2500M?

I had the same dilema, check my thread here. http://www.notebookforums.com/thread204426.html. I did indeed get the BIOS flashed, but I had to make my own boot disk, and use the edited BIOS posted in that thread.
