Unlocked Nvidia-Dell Video BIOS! Overclock your 17inch notebook Videocards! - Page 58

A while back, I flashed my 7900 GS bios with the nvflash tool. Then, before doing this one, I checked my bios revision and it said A00. However, would that be because of the flash? Or does the flash not change the revision?

I'm asking because after installing 790GSUOV.ROM on my card, I am getting lots of artifacts in ATITool at 450/600 and even at 450/550. I am using a 130W power supply that I just got as well.

Could it be that I have an A01? Or what else might be causing the artifacts? Before flashing with the JLMOD, I was using 430/1100 without the volt mod and had no artifacts at all.

** EDIT **

I am now getting the same artifacts with the stock bios provided by Joker. Would it display artifacts because of the 130W power supply?

i also used Atitool and got Artifacts............then i used the same clock in 3dmark & games (Bioshock) and didnt get one single Artifact. dont use Atitool......its sucks bigtime to your go7900gs. (you have to change some features inside Atitool to get it work properley with your go7900gs. i tried, but it didnt work anyway) just use example lv2go driver 84.69 + modded inf..........then OC.........then play and have fun............works awesome. (see my 3dmark06 scores and notes)

Hi People, i've also been OC'ing a bit
got my 7900GS to 590/740 after that it gave atitool errors rev0
but i have a little problem, running vista x64 and i aint able 2 find a working fancontroller
tried:
id8kfangui, special designed for dell notebooks but no vista x64 signed driver
rivatuner no fan tab shown
speedfan shows no fans, after selecting the dell notebook option it says priviliged instruction and then gives a few other errors
nvidia control panel shows also no fans

been boting into disable signed drivers for a while now, but that kinda sucks. any one has a better option???

my temps are also kinda high.. upto 90 degrees on 550 / 710

Do anyone here get the go7900gs too clock over 750 on the memory with the juanlu bios?
I'm not sure if the 7950GTX has ever been on that site. The site isn't even working now but you can PM me and I'll give you one of the roms I have made.

Attributes: Unlocked, zero control bit, zero delta, stock voltage, stock timings

think by chance someone can post what each bios does and the filename? I have the ROM but his site is down and am looking for just the stock unlocked REV1 bios anyone help?
Does anybody have the roms they can post? I'd prefer the 1v, but either/both would be awesome. They are nowhere to be found, and i'm pulling my hair out.

Ugh... I hate a wild goose chase.

Uploaded JuanLu's ISO file here: http://files.filefront.com/JLMODrar/.../fileinfo.html

And you can use the Wayback machine to see the site as it used to be: http://web.archive.org/web/200707060...jlgm/peng.html

Too sweet!

I'm going to try it out. That "Wayback machine" is great. Never knew about that.
Okay. I've got it installed, and working. When I try to change the clock settings in the nvidia panel, it says I have to test the new settings first. My settings don't seem to be passing though. I'm using the 1v settings, and I'm currently at 474/711. When I went to 1.24v, my temps got up to 91c, so I went back to 1v for now.

My question: is there a better way to test/set new settings, so that I don't have to run a nvidia test? Or is thru the nvidia panel the best way?

I find PowerStrip to be the best overclocking tool, mainly due to the hotkey ability. I also use RivaTuner to display core/mem clocks, GPU temp and framerate with its OSD feature.

Also what driver version are you running? Some drivers just won't overclock period, they are stubborn.

First of all HUGE thanks to all who contributed and kept this aTopic alive .
I myself have a 7900GS and recently i decided to squize some more power out of it .
Ive successfuly flashed my Video BIOS with the 790GSUOV.rom . Now do i have to manualy increase the clocks via Nvidia Clock panel / ATItool ? And how to make them stay at desired clocks permanently .
Also when i read BIOS via NiBitor it shows my card at 375/507 ( stock clocks ) , while Nvidia panel /ATItool show 500/700, as i set em in Nvidia panel . Now which of these 3 programs should i trust , which shows the real clcok speeds ?
Can i use the 7900GTX bios that is includede w other BIOSes ? Will it increase/improve performance of my 7900GS ? or it is better to stay with the GS bioses ?

I'm using a driver I found on this site, but now I'm thinking about going back to a stock driver. Will the stock driver from the nvidia website have the panel to manually overclock?

I am on a e1705 with single pipe hs, oc is at a stable 600/700 @ 1.24v but is the temp of 88 celcius too hot for the gpu? I got a 130w also a Lian-Li pc cooler that keeps the peak cpu temp at 68 celcius but the gpu still gets quite hot. Is it hard to find a dual pipe heatsink somewhere? I tried ebay but there is none. I get this temp 1st by setting all fans max speed with ik8fan and then running 3dmark06. Score in the 5k range with 2.16 core2duo, 2gb ram.
