After you set the clocks you have to click the TEST button first. Once it tests out, you then click the radio button to apply at startup, then click APPLY, then OK.

**EDIT**
Also, if you need the voltage editing help, there was an image I submitted a while back that just popped up a few posts back that should explain the procedure for voltmodding. Check that out first, and I can expand on it if you need me to. I forgot I had posted that before lol.
post #203 of 1404
yea i've done that
post #204 of 1404
i know that it flashed correctly b/c my clocks were at 550/650 and then upon flashing returned to 500/600, so I know that the bios flashed right.

the only things that cud possibly not have occurred that i can think of are
1) Maybe I didn't flash the bios, which I did-->nvflash 790GTXUO.ROM
2) Install Coolbits, which I did, downloaded from http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815 (Forceware Coolbits 2.0)

CHeck this page out.. scroll down to where it explains the process for the single gpu system:

It may help, who knows.. it helped me ha

Krayziepop: after volt modding the 790GTX.rom bios, it seems that the NVidia Control Panel won't let me clock past 597/800, whereas before with the original 790GTX.rom I could well surpass the 600/800 mark. Also, at 597/800 I am getting artifacts, and before I didn't. What is the reason that this would happen?
post #209 of 1404
Well, had you not installed coolbits you would not have seen the overclocking panel to begin with... You need to uncheck the box that says Apply these settings at startup and set your clocks to default first. Then after you have done that, adjust your clocks, test them, then check the Apply settings box, then apply, then ok. For some reason if you don't do it in just that order it won't work...

@KMANZ

Lowering voltage also reduces overclocking potential... you have to strike a balance between clockspeed and voltage to get the best settings. The stock GTX ROM will set you at 1.24V for the core. By undervolting, you may lose a bit of the headway to getting higher clockspeeds. Leave it at 1.24V and find your highest core clocks first (memory is unaffected by the voltage settings here, as GDDR3 has its own voltage bus) Once you have reached the clockspeed you want, then you can slowly start stepping the voltage down until you get a comfortable and stable setting. Lowering voltage will lower temps, but you may need a little extra voltage to get the best overclock.

Ok, at my default clocks I unchecked Apply Settings at Start Up, hit Apply, then changed my clocks, hit test, hit apply, then restarted, and they were still back to normal
post #212 of 1404
to Kmanz, that reg entry is already in place
to Krazie, unless I had already installed coolbits it may have just been build into one of my drivers because I've been able to see that Overclocking page before. Ex, the first thing I did was hit apply changes at startup (w/o changing clocks) then I flashed, than i changed clocks then i restarted, then i realized that i never installed coolbits, so installed coolbits and tried agian, no luck, basically i've tried all i can think of

besides this to change the bios do i need anything eles?

Good to go brotha, I will do just that. Thanks for helping me understand this stuff!

+ Rep to you!

try earlier drivers... i had the same problem and went back to 91.47.. may not be the problem in your case though
post #216 of 1404
don't think drivers are the problem, i'm at 9.1.4.5
post #217 of 1404
went into dxdiag actually, shows main driver as version as .9147
post #218 of 1404
done pm me now
post #219 of 1404
Ok, YGPM Yolda
