strange i get ~6000 in 3dmark06, and have a lower clock. (5530 is not bad anyway. you can stay there)

like i said before. use Rivatuner. disable clocktest in poweruser. then you get able to OC much higher, but be carefully.

Since the entire point of this sticky-ed thread is discussion of the unlocked BIOS, I was writing in context of the use of the that BIOS. I also noted that the clocks were in fact registering at max performance in ATITool.

I asked this question because everyone posting here seems to be testing for max clocks and scores while on AC, while I haven't seen a single post about someone testing while on battery, which is the most significant thing unlocked by Juan's BIOS. After all, we could overclock before, it was just a pain. We could never run max performance on battery before, not matter what--even editing the throttled voltage and clocks with NiBiTor did not work properly.

I expect you could accomplish both in one click with a script, perhaps by using Windows Powershell.

i tried Atitool, what a shit software. Rivatuner is much better. got artifacts with Atitool directly.

I think ATITool is quite good. Its the only thing I can get working in Vista anyways. Rivatuner was a nice bit of software under XP. You can also set ATITool to open, set the clock, and exit by itself when windows starts....like rivatuner. I have read that its recommended when scanning for artifacts, select the 'old scanning' method under options. You will see a lot less artifacts popping up.

What are you currently setting your clocks at? I have mine set at 600/800 and score in the low 9300 range in 3dMark05. How far is too far?

off course it is. you dont need to reflash all time long. just use Juanlus uppdate, and overclock with Nvidias controll panel (like it should be)

okay im confused and stupid, whats a safe overclock i can take my card too, and how do i do it other than nvidia control panel. i got rivatuner and i just dont see where to overclock. and i also wanted to do fan control because i dont ever really hear then on, and i dont wanna let it burn up.

((use 1volt flash, and you should be safe)) flash your card install example 84.69 with "modded inf" (you must install modded inf is so you can OC properley) http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...showtopic=9944 best driver for go7900gs (XP, 32-bit. off course) OC then in controll panel or with Rivatuner (i use rivatuner)

excellent find...

good thing I checked back here after being absent for a while...

got my 6800 Ultra running nicely at 525/550
I'd like to set my memory a little higher, as it's only an 18 MHz overclock, but whenever I do some serious overclocking on the memory, atitool runs fine for a while, and then my computer goes black and does a hard reboot. No artifacts or anything, just out of the blue reboot...

any tips?

so after a million pages of bullshit, has anyone came up with an easy way to tell what rev 7900gs u have, and how to do this properly?? it doesnt seem to hard but im not scanning though 40 freaking pages, this is insane.

Steps to find video bios version:

1. Open display properties
2. Under the "settings" tab click advanced
3. Click the "geforce go 7900gs" tab
4. You should see the video bios version under that tab

Now you need to see if its rev0 or rev1

If your bios version is 05.71.22.16.13 then it's a rev0
If your bios version is 05.71.22.28.01 then it's a rev1

yeah this thread is getting long.........
