Vaio battery not seen by processor

Thread Starter
My Sony laptop SZ140 battery (VGP-BPS2C) is not currently seen by the processor.
Its been working fine for about a year, but now it doesn't think there is a battery there.
The battery has always been physically loose.

Has anyone else seen this ?
Any suggestions or workarounds ?

Thanks,
Alan

I have the same problem, my sz110 doesn't recognize the battery anymore. Could there be something wrong with the battery connector? Does anyone have an idea?

Either the battery has failed or the motherboard's controller has.
Usually it is the battery.

Run the laptop on AC power, remove the battery and insert it again. While you do this, have the Power Options (in Control Panel) open to the Power Meter tab. When you insert the battery, does the battery say Charging and then suddenly stop? If so, you have a dead battery.
