Thread Starter
ok, my cousin reformatted his gateway and did not leave the partition with the backup drivers. so far i could only install the wireless and video drivers. im having problems nstalling the drivers for the pci modem, ethernet controller, and mass storage. is there a certain step that im missing? i'm following all the directions from gateway driver support, but it always fails.

if anyone has same the model can someone send it to me please? thanks for any help.

I don't even see any Network drivers listed on the gateway site

For ethernet, install archive D00267-001-001, unpack and then go to the Device Manager and install manually from C:\cabs\D00267-001-001\Drivers\WinXP. For the Mass Storage drivers download and unpack D00341-001-001. That worked for me. I am still having problems with the modem and the audio.

Here is how to fix your sound on MX6030

I right-clicked my computer, went to properties, then hardware. Then I went to 'other devices" and right clicked "Multimedia Audio "(should have an yellow exclamation point next to it showing that there is a problem).
You select update driver and then the wizard should pop up.
Select not at this time,
select from a list or location,
don't search. I will choose the driver to install,
select intel under manufacturer,
then AC'97 Audio Controler
Install

Thank you Networker1. I had the same problems and all your advice worked.
Thanks again.

Same problem - but ethernet adapter isnt even showing up in device manager!

Ive installed all the different drivers, uninstalled, and then reinstalled them separately to try and get some activity from the ethernet port, but nothing is working. Does anyone else have any insight on how to fix this? I have the most recent chip set drivers and downloaded Service Pack 3 for windows, but I am stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes, it is the Gateway 7330gz

TheGreatAus:

You really should start your own thread as the previous posts were all related to the MX6030, and yours is about a completely different model (7330gz).
Hijacking another thread will only add confusion to those trying to help.
Thanks
