why not? they are very small (65nm) and can be cooled with the same fan as the core 2 notebooks, with the arctic silver 5.

So, is it possible? (yay quad core notebooks)

I assume from your title that you mean you want to put a Conroe (desktop Core 2) into a laptop designed for Merom (mobile Core 2) processors. The fact that the processors are designed for different sockets means that you would have to replace the motherboard in order to put a Conroe into a laptop meant for Merom CPUs. But, if you were willing to do that, I see no problem.

you're going to cool a quad core in a laptop.....

just make a small form factor PC, much better cooling and you can actually o/c

now here is one to pop your bubble... I have heard of a socket 479 dual core Xeon.... hmmm..... anyone care to research that one a bit?

Not compatible moli someone from the Dell section scored one but didnt want to risk frying his notebook.
