64 Bit Processor

hey guys..
just wonderin what exactly 64bit proc are?
is the core2duo 2.66 64 bit?

Yes, the Core2Duo is a 64-bit CPU.

yes, all the core2duos are 64 bits... the coreduo without a 2 is not 64 bit.

I will also add that the 2.66GHz version you seem to be referring to is not a part used in laptops. (noting that this is the dell laptop part of notebook forums)....

To make any use of it being 64 bit, you'll need to be running a 64 bit OS, BTW. So Vista x64 or XP x64, or some distros of unix, etc... but ordinary comsumer OSs like XP and most versions of Vista are 32bit.
