TouchPad Sensitivity on Sager 5660

Hi, was just wondering if there is anyway to keep the touchpad speed different from the mouse speed?

I want to have a higher sensitivity for the touchpad and a somewhat slower sensitivity for my brand new MX700

If anyone can help please let me know, thanks in advance!

Yes, this is possible (in XP at least). I have my touchpad jacked all the way up, and my logitech dual optical didn't change.

allbad how did you do that?

I have XP Professional.

What are the two different settings?

Here's a link to the drivers and utilities page for the Synaptics touchpad. I used the "Windows NT5" version.

Synaptics Drivers

When you install these drivers and reboot (I believe you have to reboot), there'll be a little touchpad in the systray. use that systray icon to configure the touchpad. Any changes there should not affect your mouse settings.

It took me about an hour of playing with it to get it the way I liked my touchpad. Quite honestly, before finding out how much you can configure the touchpad I had always hated them. But now, I like it better than a mouse for Windows operations.

Hope this helps

When I right click the systray icon and click "Pointing Device Properties" it takes me to the "Quick Setup" tab in mouse properties. When I go over to "Device Settings" and click "settings" I can't seem to find the option to increase/decrease touchpad sensitivity.

Am I missing something here?

Hmm, that doesn't sound familiar. Unfortunately my 5660 isn't here as it's getting an upgrade in California right now. I need to have something in front of me to remember what it looks like, but I know it wasn't a difficult thing. right click on the touchpad and go to "Properties..." or something of the sort.
