Strange Video Problem

Hey guys,

Happy holidays, hope everyone has a great end to their year!

Anyway, I'm encountering a strange issue that seems to be video related.

In 2 places, I notice BRUTAL video.. .flickering? It's rather difficult to describe actually, essentially I get the image of whatever happens to be on my screen flickering on and off out of place all over my screen. It SEEMS to be related to the game "World of Warcraft" as the game needs to be open in order for the issue to occur.

I suppose the best way to describe it would be that it reminds me of scenes in action movies where some kind of explosion/EMP bomb is screwing up a computer/TV. Though I can't think of any specific instance, though it definitely has the look of a computer that has been seriously corrupted or has a messed up video connection to the monitor (checked those already).

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Thanks all!

I'm actually on the forums right now looking for some driver links because of the same problem- I get a weird full screen image scrambling when playing quicktime clips and with opengl preview in aftereffects. I'm using 84.63 from dell. I've fixed it before by updating drivers. I had to reinstall windows since and can't remember what driver versions i had.

interestingly, I wanted to see if i can get a screenshot with the glitch by playing a qt clip but i couldn't duplicate the issue. It might be just because I loaded the nvidia display properties (classic controls) to check the driver version just before that. I'm not sure but I think that fixed it.

You know, I tried to get a screen capture of the issue while it was happening, but to no avail. The screen captures came out looking just fine. Which seems a bit odd....
