Is this light leakage?

Thread Starter
I just bought an HP Pavilion dv8000 and I am having an issue with the screen. It seems that the light in the top portion of the screen is brighter than the bottom portion. When I look at the screen, the top half seems relatively clear, but the bottom portion looks slightly washed out. If I move my head down towards the bottom, it becomes clearer, but the top half looks darker and I can tell that the light from the bottom is still not as bright as the top. I've heard things about "light leakage" from LCD screens and I don't know if that's what this is or not. Part of the problem may also just be me, as I tend to notice things that doesn't bother anybody but myself, but I would still be curious if anyone has any information for me.

The lamp that lights the screen is on the bottom, (on most models).. Some models being dual lamped, , extra lamp at top.

The bottom half of the screen being lighter is normal...

PS: "Just bought an HP Pavilion dv8000"..... you might want to re-think that unless you got it cheap. That model being affected by the Keyboard problem...
(The screen will be the least of your troubles if that turns out to be the case for you.)
