looks good but I really suggest getting a t5500 processor, the 5200 is very slow in comparison, it runs on a slower FSB too!!! the price/performance ratio on this simple upgrade is a monster!!!

are you sure that the T5500 makes that big of a difference from the T5200 Core 2 duo processor?
Because i showed them at a different notebook forum, and i had the T5500 in the specs, and everyone said to just buy the T5200 cuz it wont make a difference at all...

It really comes down to what your using it for. A lot of things you'll never see a use for unless your using it for very intense programs.

hey Bazz did u get your laptop yet?

P.S.- I second getting a better processor. At least 1.66ghz or better.

unless all you do is surf internet/email/word processing......
the extra performance you get for the small price difference is soooo worth it!!!

the 5200 is a C2D castrated!
one of the, if not the biggest bottlenecks of the C2D's is its FSB, and the 5200 runs a lower FSB than all the others!!! 533 vs 667 I think with a 800mhz FSB coming in the next few months! which allows the true power of the C2D to be shown as the 667 versions that are out now are actually starved on the 667FSB.

wow what you just said to me did not make sence to me at all, but i guess ill try to get the 1.66 ghz instead, even though its $50 more... :/

are you sure that the 1.66 ghz makes that big of a difference from the 1.6 ghz? EVERYONE at this other notebook forum i go to says that i really dosent make a difference....

Then your talking to idiots!!!

No the difference between 1.6 and 1.66 ghz isnt that much!
What you HAVE TO UNDERSTAND is that the 5200 uses a 533 FSB and the 5500 uses a 667 FSB which is the real difference!!!!

the 5200 uses a 533 FSB (Front Side Bus)
Basically the FSB is like a freeway (of roads) that connect everything together on your motherboard: like the northbridge, southbridge, ram, harddrive, video card, usb devices etc etc.

The FSB frequency is like a road speed limit. So say when your playing a game like Battlefield2 or something, your computer is constantly moving data from the harddrive to your ram and shuffling data from your ram to your processor, your grafix card, and back.

the 667 FSB is about 33% faster than the 533. So it makes A HUGE difference!!!
And anyone who says differently is full of sh!t.

Imagine driving from LA to NY on a single road with a single speed limit. (No Speeding haha)
Your car can do 80 mph, but the speed limit posted is either 53mph or 67mph. Wouldnt you prefer the 67mph speed limit....... for the trip? Get there alot faster?
Now imagine that same scenario, but instead of driving to NY from LA, its the grapfix data your processor is feeding your grafixs card...... and instead of only making one trip, its making a round trip (back and fourth) and its doing it a million times a day!!! Now that 67mph speed limit really comes into play as does the 667mhz FSB!!!
So it doesnt matter if you had a 5ghz processor if you FSB is so low because it will starve the processor of data from the ram and grafix card.
As I said in ealier post, they are coming out with the 800mhz fsb b/c the 667 starves the chips as is, how much more do u think a 533 fsb starves it???

Yet the car can still do 80mph, but it cant speed, which is why they are making the 800mhz FSB due out in the next couple of months. That is about 60% faster than the 533. Hell the 533 is almost 4 year old technology, being as computer technology ages in dog years, THATS real old!!!

I dont know if I can explain it any better, but if you wanna listen to those idiots and save 50$ be my guest.

how much faster is .06 ghz in the long run, when you are just opening applications? It runs maybe a millasecond faster!!??

Can you read? I just answered your question!!
Apparently not......

Yeah I really must comment in. The point is that the 1.66ghz processor has the 667mhz front side bus, which is what he explained above. The 1.6ghz processor has a 533mhz front side bus. The .6 ghz is not what he is explaining. He is explaining the fact that the increased FSB is what those $50 will be worth.

yes i have relized that, and bought the hp6000t with the intel core 2 duo 1.66 ghz, 667 mhz FSB ...
