and i've seen aero in action on my viper's desktop rig. it really is nothing at all unique. it looks like a combination of things i have already seen in beryl, kde, looking glass, and osx....
I won't comment on anything here except to say that there is a huge difference between Beta 2 (and RC1 for that matter) and Final. And I mean HUGE!
You can almost call Beta 2 an Alpha compared to final. Thousands of drivers were added, all debugging code gone, new sound-set, new wallpaper, a large number of bugs completely addressed (I was very impressed that the few bugs I submitted were fixed!).... I can go on and on... an opinion based on beta is a moot point IMO.
Don't get me wrong, there are still bugs in final and some people will be disappointed, but I would put money that most people will be impressed by it. I was, and I'm using it on a 4 1/2 year old Dell that squarely sits in the POS category.
