on my dell laptop not even 4 months old my wifi is being weird... when i start the computer up the little wifi LED comes on indicating that theres wifi near, so i click on windows wifi manager and it shows me all the available networks, but it wont connect to any of them, not even my preferred ones. Could i have disabled something?

This morning, cable in our area went out for a little while. When it came back on, I couldn't connect with wifi - my desktop was doing exactly what you describe. Networks were showing, but the machine would not connect. I just clicked "repair" and all was well again.

If it does it under 2 completely different operating systems, and with any wireless network, The hardware tends to be at fault.

First I would reset your bios, give that a try and see if that kickstarts it again. If not, I would open the bottom and see if your antenna wires are attached and even reseat the card. If that doesnt hit it, I would call dell.

Vistas wireless on rc1 and rc2 is not as stable as rtm ive used all 3 and there is a noticable difference between the three also the firewall is a little different on the access of ports between the 3
