Hi!

I was thinking of buying 1 GB more RAM so i get 2 GB.
At some new games under the most intense moments it lags a little.
Is getting 1 gig more gonna improve the performance??

I run Inspiron 9100 with MR 9800 256MB

Thx guys!

your bottle neck might be the HDD.
What is your speed, free space and have you defragmented?

when I had my gen1 I doubled my ram just before Dell replaced it and the performance improvement (especially in loading times) was in some cases was jaw dropping. Unless you are an adobe freak like me, you can turn off your page file at that point if you want too, which will free some hard drive space and speed up your system as well. Fully recommended if you can. Your hard drive is almost certainly 5.4k rpm unless you replaced it and if you did you would probably know the speed. Defragmenting the drive will help a bit too.

Some of it probably depends on the games you are playing. I personally play World Of Warcraft and can tell the the difference between 1 GIG and 2 GIGs is dramatic. This is the case on both my desktop and laptop.

WoW is the only game I play so I can't really so for sure about the rest.

If you play games, 2GB of RAM is certainly going to make a difference.

I definitely notice the difference in gaming on my laptop, which has 2GB of RAM and my deskop, which has 1GB.

If you have the cash, and are wanting to game on your laptop (which it is capable of doing, by any means) then definitely go for it.
