1. What is the difference between the X1600 with 128mb vs 256?
2. The battery life is much better on the CD2 vs CD according to cnet's tests.
3. How are the screens, Which do you prefer Glossy or normal?
4. Did you have to open up your mac to re-apply AS5 to cool it down?

Well, I don't have a MBP, but I could answer a few of your questions from what I've read.

1. Well, one card has 128MB while the other has 256MB. Gaming will be better on the 256MB, of course.
2. Are you asking if the battery life is much better, or making a statement?
3. It is totally a personal preference. Glossy is nice because the images are much sharper, but then again, you'll see a lot of reflections. Matte (normal) is "anti-glare". Images won't be as sharp, but you'll receive no glare.
4. I've heard that on the previous MBP that there was a lot of excess gooey stuff, but I'm not sure how much they apply now.

1. little to no difference. gaming is slighty better i suppose. my 128 is fine for my casual gaming.
2. battery life is about 3-3.5 hrs. on my c2d.
3. i liked the glossy better in the store, and still do at home.
4. i did open my cd macbook, and it had significant positive temperature effects. i see no real need todo this to my mbp right now, load is 80c, idle is 50c. the macbook was almost at 100c load. i also dont know if im willing to pop open my new machine. the mb never seemed to quite fit back together correctly.
