Macbook - old vs. new

Thread Starter
Is there any real differences between the old and new macbook (core duo v. core 2 duo models).

I'm thinking about getting a (old) black core duo macbook for $120 less than the (new) 2.0ghz core2duo macbook, and upgrading the ram to 1gb for $100.

basically, it would only be 20 bucks less, but i'd get the black... which i prefer, but am not stuck on.

The C2D has a significant performance increase.

C2D is a 64 bit processor and Leopard will be a 64 bit OS.

The fact that the Core 2 Duo is a 64 bit processer, the 2.0 ghz C2D also has twice the L2 cache of the CD is worth the extra money IMHO. Unless you are a Form before Function type of person, Go with the 2.0 Ghz C2D macbook. (This wil run $250 more than a Core Duo Blackbook with 1gig of ram) ( At $1,049 and $1,299 )
