I9100 video card upgrade - beyond MR9800?

Thread Starter
I readily admit this is a fairly "noob" question, but while I have a pretty good knowledge base as far as desktops go, my knowledge of notebook connections/form factors/compatibilities is poor.

I have a Dell I9100 3.0 with the 128mb 9700 vid card. My question is, would my computer support any of the newer mobile graphics cards ie the MR x1600? Or does it really just boil down to my computer needing a card made specifically by dell in order for it to fit right and run correctly?

And for those who may be "in the know", I know the I9100 came out as notebooks were starting to become more powerful machines, but in the future is it conceivable that there will be a notebook graphics upgrade market like there is in the desktop world?

Oh and one more thing... anyone know of a cheap place to buy an MR9800?

short answer, no. The form doesn't fit.

Your second question, try ebay?

I got lucky, I was having problems with my video card and the replacement that dell sent was the 256 MR9800. I have seen a couple on e-bay but they were expensive.
