ASUS M6NE problems

Thread Starter
I have the wide screen version of this notebook, and i always get the names confused. I also have a major problem: the laptop wont boot. I press the power button, and I can hear the thing starting up for a few seconds then everything is silent. There is nothing on the screen, nothing to suggest what could be wrong with it. I have tried an Ubuntu live cd to see if it is the HD and it isn't.

The problem started when my brother accidentally pulled out the power cord. The laptop(really low on batteries) just shut off and from that moment it wouldn't work. I have had this problem before, and it would happen if I was using the laptop without a power source until the battery would give out. I fixed it by just fully charging the battery again and it would work (plugging it directly into the power would not fix the problem).

I have no idea what to do, can someone please help me?

Try swapping out the memory. I had the exact same problem with mine... I thought I'd fried the board or the cpu. Turned out it was just the memory that died. Popped a new stick in and all was fine.

Good luck with it.
