PCT and our defunct ATS warranties

Thread Starter
Anyone get feedback yet from PCT on whether they will honor the defunct warranties or offer an alternative?
I tried contacting them via phone (left a message) and via their site email facility but have heard nothing. I bought from PCtorque because of the many positive experinces that I've read about but I am somewhat now dismayed at the lack of information. They obviously read these forums as they post here so may I ask if I am to receive a call back?

If you seach through this forum, you'll find quite a few posts in several threads on this very topic, including posts from Charles who has posted several times. Also, there is a thread which was started by a Sager rep explaining Sager's own thoughts/policy, as well.

I've still not received any response to any of my emails about warranty repair and I don't have an ATS warranty...

I have read most of the threads you mentioned. Charles acknowledged the problem but I did not read of any resolution nor did I read of anyone posting that a resolution had been reached.

That is why I started the thread so people could keep informed of any feedback that PCT was given besides "we are working on it."

Hi, do you work for PCTorque? If so can you please respond to technical support requests? I've put in a request today and Tuesday via the PCTorque website and no one has called me back or emailed me. I need to talk to someone. I live about an hour and half away and really don't want to have to come knocking on their door to talk to someone. I'm asking for a phone call. Seems quite a minor request from someone who has given them over $3000 worth of business.

If you would have read Charles' posts you would have seen that he said he would respond promptly. These people here are saying this is not the case

i don't know why you're holding out on PCTorque to help you. They haven't done much in the past few months.

Either call up sager and get a 10% dicsount on parts and labor, or just use your laptop as a paper weight and buy a new one, probably from a different reseller. It seems that waiting or trying to take legal action will get you no where.

If you had read the OP's original question, as well as my response, you'd have noticed that the question asked was whether there had been feedback - period. My answer was that there had been - period. There was no malice in my reply, and also no sarcasm. I also didn't say that the situation had been resolved.

I did not post links, because there were several threads and posts, all readily found in this very forum.

@OP: In your initial post, you didn't seem to me to be aware of Charles' previous responses. There was no mocking, sarcasm or negativity of any sort meant in my post, and if my response came across that way to you, my apologies.

No, I'm sorry, i don't. If I were you, though, I'd be calling and emailing constantly until somebody answered. What's happened to you guys can't just simply be ignored.

I think the OP knows there have been responses from Charles. I read into the OP's post and figured he was looking for a resolution. The thread title kind of gave that away too.

you could give sager a call, and see if they can give you that 10% discount they mentioned on this forum.

What you think and what the OP thinks doesn't equate to what he said, or how I responded. I'm not hassling anyone, so what's going on here? You attempting to stir something up - trolling? I was simply answering a question as it was asked - not reading between the lines. Perhaps you've got psychic abilities and a crystal ball; I don't.

I just got mail from Charles, in about one day. I have 3-year direct from Sager, but also had 3-year Accidental Damage Protection from ATS. My ADP is lost pending bankruptcy of ATS for any possible 'partial' refund of ADP. Also, I checked and PCTorque currently does not offer ADP for my 5760 - so that confirms it. There appears no alternatives for ADP, at the moment. My 3-year direct with Sager is in effect because I put my serial number into the warrenty check tool on Sager's website and confirmed it. HTH

First, to the OP, I'm sorry that your thread is temporarily going off course, but since rickster seems to be insisting on starting an issue here, I'm going to address it - again - for his benefit.

So, rickster, semantically speaking, what part of my apology to the OP did you not understand? Other than trying to provoke internet bickering, why would you continue to insinuate that there was something wrong with the manner in which I answered the OP's question? At worst, I may not have understood what the original question actually meant, or perhaps the question wasn't stated exactly as was meant. In either case, no offense to the OP or anyone else was intended. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding and said so several posts ago (and believe I said so quite clearly).

Now, so that this thread can get back on track, I suggest you drop the attempt at trolling. Just to be clear to all, especially the OP:

I'm really very sorry if I've offended you in any way. If so, I assure you it was unintentional; I was attempting to answer your question in good faith, as I understood it, with no hidden agenda or meaning.

as far as i know few people have got solid answers from PCT as of late, it is a bad situation and i am sure all involved would much rather it never have happened. as a reseller i doubt it will help pct, although at least nbf is not affilitiated with them anymore (hasnt been for months now), and im sure none of the owners like seeing their paid for warranties disappear.

no matter what if i was in the situation of the owners who have been screwed over in the end i would keep calling and emailing until i got a proper answer out of pct and all involved.

I think the OP's question meant one thing, you thought it meant another.

Agree to disagree?

Side note: saying you don't want to offend anyone then calling someone a troll sends mixed messages. You know what else sends mixed messages? commenting about internet bickering in a negative way, then continuing the internet bickering. That puts into question your "good faith."

Anyways, i feel for you guys with the crappy 3rd party warranty, i got shafted by micromedics, took them 6 months to finally fix my laptop. hopefully you guys won't have to suffer as long as I did.

I hate letting people like you continue unchallenged, but I was asked to be a CR in order to try and assist folks, not to engage in this sort of threadcrapping. I'm going to bite my tongue, much as I'd prefer to continue this and speak freely about what I'm currently thinking, and end this now.
