Some advice needed

Hi everyone.

So heres the deal, I may be buying a gameing notebook in the next 2/3 months.

Problem is all the manufactures/retailers of the machines of the specs im interested in(Dell,Voodoo,Sager/PC Torque,Hypersonic) are in the US and most dont have any presence at all in the UK except for Dell(who it seems wont sell the XPS outside of the US anyway so prehaps the XPS is a mute point entirely)

This creates a significant problem(for me anyway) in terms of support/warrenty isssues as I sure as hell ant paying over £2000 for a system with none or very limited support based here in the UK if things go wrong and the system needs serviceing/replaceing.

So is there anyware in the UK that I can get a system with ether a P4/P4EE or AMD A64 Proceessor and the Radeon 9700 Mobility(128 or 256 Vram) at a decant price and with good support to back it up ?

Well they currently offer the 51m2. It has what you want, except for the 9700. However, remember that Alienware notebooks, at least the Area 51 Mobile, offers upgradable graphics. So... of course you will be able to upgrade to the next best thing.

Well the Alienware Area 51 would be a great system if it had 2 things, the 9700 gfx and support for PC3200 in a dual channel config.

Would it be worth while emailing alienware to see if these things are in the pipeline in the next few months ? or would i just get a "no comment" from them as they prehaps wouldnt want to announce any plans to upgrade the Area 51(if they had any) to far ahead of time.

May also contract Dell to see if there is any hope in hell of getting a XPS to the UK or not as they have a base over here and the availability of warranty service/support worldwide via the international warranty.
