Disk Keeper? What's that? I know of a pretty good program called DisKeeper... but there's no disk keeper.
Be careful before the Noobs get confused!

Why? The noob is the guy that buys Diskeeper in the first place. You can defrag your drive in XP right out of the box, furthermore the applet that Microst uses in the built in defrag program, is the "Diskeeper" engine.

You haven't used Diskeeper. It took me 6 hours to defrag my hd with the built in one, dk did it in 1. Plus, you can set priorities. I was able to play GTA: Vice and defrag at the same time! Yay! It can schedule it too.

Sure have, we have some DBA's that like to install it on the SQL clusters. We nicknamed it "DisKiller" since it frequently destryoys more than it defrags on our large storage appliances.

Besides, do you really have so little time in your life that you can't run the builtin? You can't just let it run in the evening?

To tell the truth... yep. To have my comp un-useable for 6 hours is kinda hard, since 3 people use it. 1 of them is a night person too... so even the evening is shot. I've never heard of it killing a disk though, and It was actually recomended to me by a server admin. I don't know, maybe it just doesn't agree with clusters.

sorry for the confusion on the name, yes it's diskeeper.xp defrag is crap doesnt defrag as good as system mechanics plus it also cleaned your reg and defrags that too.xp's defrag=

Hey guys need some help here. Had my brothers over and they were playing it well when they left the desktop icon is gone and when i put the disk in it pops up but when i try to push play nothing happens. Same with uninstall and install, nothing happens. I've looked on the computer and the whole game isn't even there. My brothers swore they didn't do anything. Any suggestions? Man this game rocked when it was working. Oh yeah, forgive me for saying but this is on my Dell desktop. My AW arrives Tuesday

hey gus, i love battlefield vietnam too. While i own an alienware, this doesn't really have anything to do with it. I have been playing BFV for about a week now and i really want to use my joystick (Microsoft force feedback 2) for flying helicoptors and planes but i can't figure out how to do it because i went to the options screen in BFV and there was NO joystick option. How do you guys do it because people in game said it was possible.

Under the CONTROLS tab there are options for AIR and SEA. You can change the ALT controls to your joystick if you want to also keep your mouse control. You have to configure each action.

ethannah - there is no joystick "option"..just goto the control you want to use the joystick on, click it and move the joystick how you want it set...itll automatically detect that you moved the joystick and put it in the settings.

tate - Have you looked in the add/remove programs list? When you put in CD 1, and goto setup.exe...is the game checked and says its installed? I assume you've looked around ont he harddrive for the folder it was installed to?

thanks guys, i got it to work. Its so good knowing that there is a dependable source out there for all my computer needs, and you guys all own AW's (or at least YOU SHOULD if you don't)

Thats what i like about this place also. When i get an Alienware, there is no need to use tech support for a problem, i'll just come here first. Then if no one can figure it out, then it would be time to call up tech support.

Hornet, I got it working. Kinda weird cause I installed that Punkbuster thing and it's going now. Darn Dell's! Thanks for the help

Well, I just installed the game on my lappy. Played fine, then I exited to the menu and it froze. Couldn't get out of it so I powered off. Got the blue screen indicating an 'IRQ checksum error.'

WTF is this, why does it happen, and especially why does it happen after the game played fine for several minutes? I didn't have any peripherals but my AW mouse hooked up.
