Hot thinkpad 760ed

Recently purchased a reburbed thinkpad 760 ed has win98 installed,figured it would be a good starter for my 12 year old. My only concerns are 1 i need an owners manual and 2 this thing gets HOT! plug and all. what can be done to remedy the heat issue and where in the blazes is the battery? Thanks just sign us new to laptops

The battery is under the keyboard...Just push the 2 latches on the sides(the ones you use to open the lid) towards the screen and the keyboard
will pop-up.
Yes the 760 gets hot..to the point where you need to be careful especially
if you are using the Cardbus slots not to keep it on your lap.

Thanks. unfortunately found out the problem is the adapter jack and the repair will cost more to fix than the computer is worth.So unless i can find an adapter I'm screwed. Thanks again
