Before you ask: I don't know why I felt like posting this. I need therapy.

So I finally got my blu ray drive today, and I have no idea of what titles I want. For some reason I think I'm going to pick up the Pirate series. It's funny because I was thinking that the BLu Ray Selection was way larger then the HD serction but from looking at the 2 selections today they're about the same size, wow Universal has alot of movies. I mean yeah not all are good, but the some of them are goodies.

If a movie comes out for both systems which should I pick up? I have no idea atm...

Are they the same price? Also, does one have extra features the other doesn't? If the answer to both questions is 1) yes the same, and 2) no extras differences, then toss a coin.

Well alot of Blu Ray films appear to be lacking in Audio using 5.1 rather then 7.1 while it appears that the the picture quality is higher on some Blu Rays over HD DVD. IN the end it's hard to tell the difference, so I suppose I'll still stick with HD DVD's because they're cheaper. But I'll hop onto Blu Ray as soon as I master the ability to copy Blu Ray Films, and rent via Net Flix. I'll also have to find a way to pick up bulk Blank Blu Ray Disks.

Get Planet Earth. That is all you need. What TV do you have? When you do buy it, take some pics of it. Its the most beautiful thing ever.

Effing signed/loki you have a 7.1 setup?

The LG BH100 is out now and it plays HD DVD and BR, but it's around $1K. I'll wait until the sub $300 or $200 ones come out and it'll definitely have to play both formats.
I read on engadget the other day that Pioneer has a $299 one coming out that's dual format, but now I can't find anything on it

Yeah I have a Klipsch THX Sound system along with a 52 inch Bravia. Honsetly with HD DVD through my xbox or even Blu Ray through my PC, provides an experiane that makes me want to stay home over going to the theatre. With the prices of Movies tickets these days buying HD DVD's or even Blu Ray's aren't all that intimidating to me.

I hardly ever go to the movies. The theaters usually stink, are dirty, full of kids and there's only about 5 good seats. Gotta remember to hook my sound system and DVD player back up too. I had to take it apart when we got new floors put in

You must have some crummy movie theaters. All the theaters around here are Stadium Seating

No don't get me wrong the theater I attend has a balcony and me and my better half always go to the balcony to watch flicks. It's quite nice they're leather seats.

It's just that they cost about 12 dollars to 15 dollars a seat, and after parking costs in the garage and me buying beers while watching the flick or buying some silly popcorn or condements I easily spend close 50 dollars anyways.

what city you live in?
Last movie I saw was in the most expensive theater in the US...
how much for a ticket?
I meant most expensive to build, it's freaking huge and the Rim, the shopping center it's in and another shopping center near it have stores like Tiffany's, Nieman Marcus, Saks etc.. A Bass Pro Shop is right next to the Palladium and actually looks small. The theater is nice, but the people in it are still loud, rude and stinky..
ticket prices are something like $6.50-$13.00 or something like that, depending on time of day and if it's IMAX or not. I saw Spiderman 3 in IMAX and that's the last movie I saw in a theater

I love watching Planet Earth in HD on Discovery HD, amazing photography

I have an Imax dome theatre about 20 minutes away... it's pretty cool.
oh so it just cost the most to build? is that what they mean by most expensive?
yes, most expensive to build. The San Antonio economy can't really support super high ticket prices, most people are poor here.
The Bentley I saw at Super Target last time I was there wasn't poor.. he was stupid though, parked right in the middle of the parking lot and it was a new Continental GT
