dell inspiron 5100 battery problem

Currently the battery on my laptop will not charge while the laptop is on and on a full battery only last 45 mins. i was wondering what kind of battery should i replace it with and from where?
also, is there an upgradeable battery that last longer?

There should be extended capcity batteries but the ones on the 5100 were already pretty big due to the pentium4 inside so at this point any battery will do.
