Pentium Extreme in a 9890?

can I put a Intel Pentium Extreme 965 3.73 Ghz LGA 775 1066 FSB in my 9890 (currently Running P4 3.4Ghz).

It seems that it uses the same socket type of many P4's, including the one in your 9890.

Looks like it will fit at least. That'd be a sick upgrade.

No, thats a Pentium D it wont work. The 98x0 chipset isnt compatible with the Pentium D series.

The fastest processor compatible with the 98x0 computers is the 3.8ghz Pentium 4 Prescott core.
