Hi not any reviews out for this so i thought i write one
i bought this for a value college laptop. im usually a dell person but i got this since some one was selling it to me for 550.
OS restore takes a while.
CPU SPEED. im sure its a speedy cpu but this model only has 255kb of l2 cache im sure its around 15% or so slower than the model with 512kb. i wish i had the 512 but this cpu is pretty fast enough for the price i paid for it.
ram. theres enough of it i soppose even tho the integrated takes up some of it. set it in bios how much you want i set it to 128.
the build is very sturdy but the looks is rather ugly. dell has media buttons that make it looks great. this is FN media keys. not too sharp but what can i say for 550 bucks.
keyboard
im used to dell keyboards so i dont like how the FN key is in the CRTL spot. something i have to get used to and i tried using that key changer thing and FN doesnt recognize.
battery life is kinda bad but im sure thats due to the 6 cell battery theres a 12 cell battery for 150 from gateway but im not gonna buy that. normal use with screen dim gets around 2hours'ish but then again ive only had it for 1 day.
gaming
well the laptop runs my fav game CSS prettty well all low 800x600 gets 75 frames in STRESS test and i get around 50 avg in a game so its good. then again i have a cal config on with all the tweaks to make it look bad.
but very impressive for a 6100. glad i didnt get some GMA950 crap from intel.
only quirk is there is a heat exhaust on the side and when you are using stuff to make the cpu work it out puts alot of heat. i dont get why it runs so hot. my pentium M's and core duo's didnt do that on my dell ive owned like 8 dells before this.owell nothing wrong with it. but typical amd x2 on desktops dont seem to put out this much heat so i dont know why this is putting out so much heat.

i installed Ntune to overclock my cpu and it overclocked to 1.9 pretty stable. temps hit 90's tho but owell.
before the update my CSS stress test was at 105 frames after overclock stress test hit 122 frames. not bad.
