hi -
two weeks ago i was overjoyed to find a latitude d420, XP Pro, 1GB of RAM, C2Duo (U2500) for only $999 on the dell outlet. i even went so far as to get an extra 9-cell batt and upgrade to 3 yr onsite support.
however - i've been noticing the system doesn't always recover from either stand-by or hybernate.
per the user manual, a quick press on the power button should wake-up the system.
that is not the case.
the other day i had wi-fi on and was checking some emails with a full charge. i quickly locked the system and closed the screen (quickset configured to go into stand-by when lid is shut).
after about 10 minutes or so i came back to resume my work. no power - no nothing.
all i get are the 4 little LEDs lit green for a few seconds then nothing.
still no go - finally called up Dell and asked for a refund. they offered to replace with a new system which should ship within 8 days.
anyone else experience a similar issue with the latitude Dx series notebooks?
ciao ~

- plugged into AC with no batt
- swapped AC
- reseated ram and wless
- swapped to 6-cell batt
- removed peripherals and pressed power to clear the system
still no go - finally called up Dell and asked for a refund. they offered to replace with a new system which should ship within 8 days.
