Buying new RAM for my m115-s3094

Thread Starter
im looking to buy a 512mb or 1gb for my new laptop because it only came with 512mb

im planning to purchase kingston but when i checked the compatible RAMs for my notebook model
it gave me a list like this

KTT533D2/256 256MB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT533D2/512 512MB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT533D2/1G 1GB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT533D2/2G 2GB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT667D2/256 256MB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT667D2/512 512MB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT667D2/1G 1GB DDR2 SO DIMM
KTT667D2/2G 2GB DDR2 SO DIMM

but i found a model like Mfr's Part #: KVR533D2SO/1GR which is also 1GB DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz
200 Pin SODIMM.

so im wondering if i could use other rams besides the ones they have on that list as long as its DDR2 SO DIMM

Those KTT serial numbers are probably Kingston memory modules. Yes, as long as the specs match, you are pretty much able to use any type of memory. The only thing is, you may not be getting the same warranty that Kingston offers (lifetime) but certainly, you may be able to find some other brand which does at a cheaper price

Go to crucial.com and run their memory advisor tool. It will identify what you need.

KVR533D2SO/1GR is Kingston ValueRAM. Kingston makes RAM for both the OEM and consumer markets.
