SZ260P Overheating Issue

Thread Starter
I've noticed that my SZ260P laptop has been reaching pretty high temperatures as of late. When its on speed mode, I can barely keep it on my lap as it gets ridiculously hot.

According to Rightmark CPU utility the laptop is reaching temperatures on average of 69 to 72 degrees and as high as 75 degrees and thats wihout any games running.

When I do play a game, the laptop seems to shut down after a period of 2 or more hours of play, no blue screen, no error, just a total shutdown. I've been attributing this to the overheating issue, but I could be wrong.

Anyone have any ideas and/or solutios?

P.S. System specs are same as right out of the box

Thanks!

Try cleaning the vents and fans in your machine. Unclog the vents and then use canned air to clean things up a bit. There are other thing you can try, too, but the easiest and most obvious things should be tried first.

What would be the best and safest way to go about cleaning my laptops vents?

Q-tip, perhaps? Just something which can get any crud out without gouging or scratching anything. Otherwise, a can of compressed air should work fine.

Yes...mine was getting too hot to handle. I opened up the bottom (four screws), used compressed air to blow out the dust. It took 10 or 15 minutes to get it all out. No more heat problem
