OK this isn't really support I'm looking for, more like opinion. I'm looking for a computer for school/gaming. I want a laptop that can play F.E.A.R and it doesn't have to be at max settings, and Warcraft III Frozen Throne, which essentially any computer can play. It has to have a 3-year warrranty (No company is reliable enough yet), Core Duo or better, 80GB hard drive or bigger, and it has to be less than 1700 or just a little bit over. Right now I'm deciding between, the dv9000t, the dv6000t, the apple macbook, and the dell e1505

the Macbook will laugh at you if you try to play F.E.A.R. As for warcraft, it should work great. If you really want to play F.E.A.R. I would reccomend a Macbook PRO, or the dell e1505 (make sure you get a good GFX card or it will regurgitate the F.E.A.R. disk right out of the drive. )
E1505
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
No Express Upgrade to Windows Vista Selected
15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WXGA+ Display with TrueLife™
FREE! 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM
120GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
FREE 8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory™ (Note this will not give you a very good F.E.A.R experience, however it should be playable a low settings. )
and a 3 year warrantee comes up to $1,709
The warrantee is really what jacks up the price by the way

hi. i need help. i'm planning to get laptop. from around 900 $. Screen size 15". ram memory 1GB+. HD 80Gb would be enough and the only thing that bugz me is AMD or Intel Processon. I have Desktop PC with AMD processor & im really pleased with it. Im thinking like AMD X2(1Mb cache) or Intel Core Duo 2(2mb cache). I was looking at Dell, HP, Gateway and some other stores. I wanna hear from u about Gatway laptop experience cuz they offer really good stuffs for that price. thank you!

To the OP, i would go to a costco near you adn look at getting a membership and a laptop there. I got a dv9033cl. It has the following.
Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66)
XP media
2 GB ram
200 Gb HD (2X100)
Lightscribe 8XDVD+/-R/RW with double layer support
Nvidia GeForce 7600 256 dedicated,
Webcam, microphone.
It is an awesome notebook so far, adn i only paid$1500 for it, Also costco has there 180 day (6month) return policy, no strings attached. Plus it has a full keyboard, which is useful to me.
