yeah ok so I have $2,000. I was looking for a gaming notebook.

Specs i want at the minimum:
17" screen
2GHz Proc. speed
120 or more GB hard drive
2gb ram
and a very good graphic cardm such as Nvidia 7900
hopefully MS word

I looked everywhere i could find, and so far im liking the Dell E1705 with all of the above and a little more for about $1900. I am student so I do a lot of gaming but a lot of work as well

can anyone help me find the best deal I can?

Alienware didnt look to good.

Thanks

Check out dell's e1705 like the one dude told me to. You can get that with 2 gigs upgrade for free, 17 inch, 7900 GS, all the goodies. Then i checked ebay for coupons they got a coupon for them on there basicly u can get a very nice one for around 2000 grand almost exactly with everything maxed.
oh that price i kinda figured with a 3 years warranty (comes with accidental also heh) so great deal and a half i'm thinkin this is the lappy for me also.

if u do alot of downloading u need alot of gigs. I don't do really any downloading so i go for the fastests smallest drive i can get usually to knock money off it i can.
All i do is mainly game and do some school work. I want a notebook because im always on the run, i'm tired of having a big huge bulky desktop, and i'm not a big upgrader. I tend to build a desktop system and keep it for about 3 to 5 years depending on how well the technology in it holds up. So i just decided to get a notebook. Portable and enough power to keep my happy for at least 3 years probly, hopefully.

I'm mainly looking to go with a dell for the warranty i can get on it. 3 year accidental is great, because my 3 year old loves to get into stuff, and it only takes but 5 seconds for him to destroy somethin lol. i wanted a xps but then a guy told me about that machine the case and everything looks exactly the same, just not as kool looking and flashy but a hell of alot cheaper in the end. plus i get twice the system for the price.\

i just quit wow. games like crack. I mainly just playing the freebie games till quake wars. F.E.A.R. and america's army i just downloaded. if i get the new notebook i'm gonna go buy rainbow six las vegas.
fear and america's army are great tho if you just looking for some games to get started playing and don't want to pay. fear was a game u had to buy but they released multiplayer for free i run a server for it.

but as for the hd thign i got a 80 gig and 40 gig secondary in my desktop im on right now. and i havent even filled the 80 gig yet.
and its got all kinds of crap on it lol. if my laptop ever starts getting to full when i get it. i'll just buy a portable drive to hook up to it threw usb.

for coupons, you might want to check this forum

http://www.notebookforums.com/forum104.html

the reason why the e1705 is so popular here, is because it offers the best bang for the buck with the coupon, and the gpu over clocks nicely which is practically a $400 upgrade for free

if you want to save cash, you can always go for a smaller hdd and when time calls for it buy an external drive, dell charges quite a bit for bigger size hdds

if you're in the US, you can also try the outlet

honestly the simple fact is with that budget and those requirements you are going to be almost certainly buying dell so just keep watching and follow that advice.

You will certainly be pleased, guaranteed! Go for the Dell! Your friend's freezing up maybe coz of all the junk he has on it. If that's not the case, tell him to contact Dell and have it fixed or something.
