The sentia will work great with Linux with the exception of the Intel 2100 wireless card. Intel is working with the Linux community to provide drivers, but as of this post drivers found on the net are "Beta". Some have reported good results with the beta drivers. I haven't tried it yet.

Sentia partition
Slackware Linux
Win XP

Congrats on the decision. If you are going to wack Linux on it, did you have to pay for a copy of WinXP?

they will not sell the system without xp on it. I have a small business and own XP pro...wanted to have it loaded but they said they would load home on it and I could re-do it when it arrives to me.

they told me over the phone that I could go ahead and do it..so I would have to say no, but call them. If it does...I'm cancelling the order...

You can do it w/o voiding the warranty, but they won't give tech support on any OS than what's supplied with the system (either XP home or Prof.) and if you upgrade l8r they won't support. Only what you buy w/ the system.

This is the impression I got as well. I know several other vendors are similar - you can rebuild it with the rebuild CD they supply and keep full support, or rebuild it differently and lose the software support. It should never void your hardware warranty though.

Would shoving it up tech supports arse void the warranty?

After doing that, I don't think it matters if you have a warranty anymore
