7950 GTX on battery @ full speed ? good idea ?

Hi everybody
Two weeks ago I bought a XPS M1710 with 7950GTX and it's awesome.
When running on battery it clocks down to 200/300 and that's a problem for me because I often want to play at break time but there are no power plugs there.
In NiBotTor I saw a low power 3D setting with 200/300@1V.

Is it possible to use the normal settings (575/600@1,32V) for battery mode ?
Will this brick my GPU or kill my battery ?

Thanks alot for any help !

In this thread you will find the info to flash your video card bios http://www.notebookforums.com/thread185501.html
This will allow you to overclock your video card and allow you to run full speed on battery, although your battery time will be greatly reduced.

Yeah, you need to use the program in that link to flash your video cards BIOS to unlock overclocking and being able to set your PowerMizer settings to Maximum Performance when on battery.

If you do it, you will have to go through your driver settings and set PowerMizer for Maximum Performance on battery.

Thanks alot !!

I flashed the unlocked bios to my 7950GTX and now ATItool works very well.
Now with PowerMizer disabled the 3D performance on battery is much better, before was only about 20-30% of normal performance.

Only one strange thing remains:
The 3D performance on battery is only about 70% but ATItool and Rivetuner both show the same clocks on battery and power adapter.
3Dmark06:
5119 on power adapter
3733 on battery

Have I missed something ?
