I've been wanting to build my own one of these for a long time, screens are the only real hard part to come accross. www.cappuccinopc.com has some items that people looking into this might consider, and I think I personally will just make a mounting bracket that fits an OQO and get USB GPS. In-car PC sounds like a lovely idea, but the specs on that one are way out of date before it even hits the shelves... 256mb RAM + Windows XP = bring a book; you're gonna need it.

I wonder whose idea it was to call this the UREN (Urine?)

Pretty cool but it would be hard to do like normal things on it, it would go pretty slow.

The title of "world's first" is a bit misleading...Mini-ITX boards and DC-DC power supplies that run off a car's electrical system have been around for a while now. Granted, they are meant to reside in the dash or elsewhere in the car and not be moved around, but it's the same functionality. I like the combination UMPC/GPS/car PC idea, though!

Nokia n770 and n800 have been able to do ALL of this for some time actually.

There is a program out there for media, GPS, and even reading your car's computer scan codes. Albiet in some cases you need to purchase a bluetooth GPS reciever or scan code reader, but this is FAR from a first.
