Counter Strike on DV6000

I got the the dv6113ca Hp laptop last week, fast nice and fast laptop.

Amd Turion X2 ML-50 1.6Ghz
1 GB Ram
80 GB Sata Drive
Geforce Go6150 256mb

Now i tried putting in counter strike source. It runs fine but my fps is at like 20 and doesnt move.
I tried putting in fps_max 100 but it didnt change anything. When i go lower graphics, it lowers the details but the fps still doesnt change!!! Do i need special drivers? There has to be something blocking the computer from outputting more and i cant figure out what it is. If you guys have any suggestions please tell me how you run counter strike source. Thanks

Andy

I have no idea how taxing counter strike is, but with the 6150 I could see 20 fps being pretty much the maximum. But I don't have a GF 6150 and I don't play counterstrike so your best bet would be to post in the general area and ask what sort of fps you can expect with the 6150 or try posting on the counter strike forum of straferight, either place will give you a much more informed answer than I can.

what do you mean by input lag? I do notice lag, but the fps doesnt seem to make a difference between high graphics and low graphics. Very weird. Counter Striker Source yes

Hey guys, I have a dv2000 which has almost the same configuration as the dv6000, and yes I have the same graphic card. I have installed the CS 1.6 (not source) few days ago and get the same symptoms you guys get (very very mad about it). Low fps no matter the resolution and input lag all over the place.

We gotta find a solution to this. I was thinking maybe drivers from Nvidia, but it seems these laptops need drivers from HP. I dont know, im keep looking.

Guys I am happy to announce you that I have found a fix
They are called ngo drivers available for download from here , which are the nvidia latest drivers optimized for performances on mobile platforms. Our graphic cards supports them. Download and install them, (bypass the non-certified security warning) and then test counter strike. I have done so and now I'm getting 80-90 fps for online gaming, and no more input lag. Have fun boys ...

I did man, i didnt see much of a change actually. I dont know. I got a 7900 GT for my computer so i guess ill just use my desktop for games. It would have been nice it my laptop could run it but i play games like BF2 n such.

I just got my dv6174cl, and with just a small overclock im ulling down 60fps, native resolution. I'll try the ngo drivers later, see if theres an increase.

If you wanted to play any games on your laptop, why didn't you get one that has a dedicated graphics card?

Because i wasnt loooking to gettting a laptop for games. I needed it for school and work and if it played games, then it would be great, if not too bad. I have a desktop to play games anyway.
