v5000 battery life problem

hello all

I've had my laptop since March of 2006 and about 6 months after purchase, i get about an hour of battery life on full charge. I used to get at least two when I first got the laptop. I know that batteries degrade over time but I did not expect it to degrade so fast. Is this typical? if it's not can i get a free replacement battery from HP?

it is not typical, but it happens, and it is not limited to just hp laptop

take a look at ur warranty and see what it says - if it is still under warranty, they probably would replace it for u for customer satisfaction - don't hold ur breath though
