i dont understand why everyone always assumes higher RPM drives (7200vs5400) use that much more power, they dont.
ive seen many 7200 that use less than their counterpart 5400.
damn straight a 15.5rpm hd for a mbp would kick ass. but would i trade its 36/75 gig in size for my 120, NO, the speed isnt worth that to me.
as for it affecting battery life, maybe 10 min. but i guess when rated battery life is 4hrs tops to begin with, 10 min is 1/24th reduced.
im in favor for hd companies uping the rpm in drives. what im not in favor of is the fact that we still are using MOVING hd, and not SSD. if these companies would forget about RPM, and goto SSD with all the R&D, we'd be there in no time. just like the whole intel thing i guess, people want speed (RPM), not quality(SSD)
